Does This Shirt Make Me Look INVINCIBLE?

Wow, has everything been BUSY lately. I'm about ready for basketball season to be over. Just a few more weeks...Jenna's team lost their first game, but then went on to win the consolation championship. Or as she likes to say, "the winners of the losers." It was a lot of fun, though.

I met up with the running club on Saturday morning for a fun run followed by a pancake breakfast supporting local youth baseball held in the fire station. I was nervous, since I got there and Kim was no where to be seen, but ended up having a really nice run. A couple guys chatted with me and made sure that I didn't get lost, and basically made me feel at home. I saw Kim later and we hung out at the breakfast for a while, and there were some group photos taken by a pro (credits - Matt Huber).

(I showed this one to my husband and said, "I'm on a boat!" Yes, Bobbi = dork)
I have a real warm and fuzzy about the club so far - I think it's going to be nice to run with them!

On Sunday, after all our basketball running around was done, I went out for another quick 5k, just because it was too nice outside to NOT run. Totally not on my schedule, but totally GLORIOUS run. If it hadn't gotten too dark, I'd have gone WAY further. I wore capris! It was great.

Yesterday, I did my first predawn run in I can't remember how long. Probably last marathon training cycle. I volunteered to help and my little guys Valentine's Day classroom party, so it was then or never. And truthfully, I miss starting my day out like that. It was a really recharging run - a great way to kick off a new training plan.

(just because he's ridiculously cute - I had more than one teacher remark yesterday on how well he's doing. It was so nice!)

And today, I did a 5-miler while James was at school, even though I rally wasn't feeling it. I had no desire to get out there - this was my fourth day of running in a row, which for lots of you is no big thing, but for me? HUGE! I don't think I've ever run 4 days in a row. I am weird like that, but this was a nice way to break that barrier in my brain telling me I can't do it. I so totally can. I did! (kinda proud of myself for that one!)

One last thing: I got a super awesome present in the mail on Saturday.

Made.
My.
Weekend.

It makes me FEEL invincible! (if you don't read Emz, GO! Now! She rules!)

  2. I think a running club would be great. Unfortunately, with my work schedule, they run on Saturdays, when I work pretty much 3 out of 4 Saturdays a month. It looks like you had a great day. Congrats on all the running. Can't wait to get back to the point where I am excited to run...

  3. I think that would be really fun to be in a running club! You know dedication when you get up predawn to run! And you look pretty tough in that shirt!

  4. Congrats on getting 4 running days in. It can be hard sometimes to do that many in a row. Boy a running club that would be so great. I am just happy to find a running partner in my little town. Keep up the good work with you training.

I am sorry I was not there at 8:00! I didn't realize my group was coming back so late! :( Are you doing any of the group runs this week? :) (Speaking of energizing morning runs, I am joining them tomorrow - I love running first thing too!)

I am so happy James is doing well!
