TCM Training Week 12 (and WTH have I been up to?)

As I've mentioned, life seems extra crazy lately. I don't have time to breath hardly. So here's the scoop on the last week...

Monday: After Sunday's long run fail, this was planned rest. Sort of. John and I spent the majority of Labor Day in the basement working our asses off.

Tuesday: Rest. More basement work.

Wednesday: Unplanned rest. Meant to run, but basement got in the way. Again.

Thursday: 4.01 predawn miles! (ave. pace - 10:45) It felt so good to get out there. The first round of flooring was scheduled for that morning, so I knew it had to get done early. Leg feeling good!

Friday: Unplanned rest. Oops. Up too late in the basement and I was unable to haul my ass out of bed. Next round of flooring DONE!

Saturday: 5.01 early miles (ave. pace - 10:49) Again, I knew it was early or nothing. Jenna had a volleyball game that morning, and we all went. I spent the rest of the day shopping with the kids, taking care of packet pickup, and hydrating.

Sunday: 22 miles!!! Adding everything together, I finished all 22 in 4:21:01 for an average pace of 11:52. Not too bad.

Week total miles: 31.02

Want to see pictures?? Go here to recall how it looked before - we'd gotten it just livable enough for my brother-in-law to stay down there. And now?

laminate done!

this is where all the stuff was piled in the first picture

We still need to finish the ceiling, stain and varnish all the doors, and have a little trim work to finish, but it's SO FREAKING AWESOME to have all the big stuff complete at last!

  2. Basement looks great! I wanted to congratulate you on your great run with the race this weekend but again blogger was giving me issues yesterday! And I have to find that schwaggle site or whatever it was because by the time I saw the race and the price for it I thought it was to much but well you know my running deal now but anyways I thought about that race as well!

You're sure doing better than me about getting up and getting your miles in. My discipline is on hiatus. :P

  4. i'd love to have a basement. of course here in new orleans, it would more than likely be under water 2 or 3 times a year. :)

  6. The basement looks great! And it's awesome that you were still able to get in 30+ miles while putting the big finishes on the basement.

Speaking of the basement, do you need a 51" rear projection tv to go down there? I can make you quite the deal....

  7. The basement is looking so great! I love the flooring. Is it real wood or fake wood? Is it those snap-together pieces?

I hope this week is less crazy for you! :)
