plugging along...

I'm starting to realize why at least half of the running bloggers I read are single or at the very least childless...

I'll start off by saying YAY!! I did get 4 runs in last week, and that was fantastic! My last run was Sunday morning, and not a great run, but I got it in. But this week has been difficult from the start.

Last Friday night my husband was coming home from some fun with my 2 older kids. At 10:30pm, 30 miles from home, our car died. This car has been giving us fits all winter, and this was the best yet. *sigh* Luckily for us, our friend rescued them and they made it home by about 1:00am. Ugh. (An aside - my son was very excited to get to ride in the tow truck, which would only take the car 5!!! miles from where they were, hence the necessity for a rescue)

This weekend is my son's First Communion, so not only am I dealing with Crazy Car Bullshit, but I'm organizing for a party. And the Blackhawks keep FORCING me to stay up so late! And my youngest thinks sleeping is for idiots! There - I have all the excuses out of the way, hehe.

So I ran on Monday, and got 3.8 miles in, but I haven't run since. It's Thursday. Not great...so I'm planning on getting a good run in tomorrow, and then again on Saturday early before I need to get everyone else organized for Communion.

Next week I have to get down to business. Official training starts in just a few weeks. EEK!

  1. I followed you here from Kim's blog. I TOTALLY understand about you seeing why most running blogs are childless. I have 4 kids myself and it is an entirely different kind of training when you have kids. So many things can lead you off the path of your plan and you just have to roll with it.

Just wanted to say hi and that I will be reading here often because I can totally relate.
